BeeBee has now awoken from her winter hibernation and is looking closely at the staff’s holiday request forms as they pass her desk looking for her first free holiday…..she is cursing herself for missing a Caribbean honeymoon during her slumber. So watch this space for her latest travels!

BeeBee is currently hibernating in a very cosy draw, with plenty of paperwork for insulation.

A spokesman quoted her as saying:-

“I’m not coming out – it’s far too cold in Wales for ducks at the moment! Leave me alone! I’m just waiting for you lot to start going on holidays again so I can stow away. Hurry up Summer!”

Hawaii

Aloha!

That was some trip – 24 hours in a jumbo to Hawaii! Now I’m here its so much hotter than home in Wales! One of the blackbox team is attending a wedding and I managed to stowaway in his suitcase. So strictly speaking I’m an illegal duck – just hope the yanks are feeling friendly today! My host has hired a jeep and we’ve been whizzing all around the island and even took a trip over an active volcano – mind you using the touchscreen ATM was quite hard when you’re a duck. At least those Koi Carp were friendly – they just nibbled my webbed toes. All too soon it was time to come home…..where next I wonder.

Just thought I would let you know about my recent heavenly trip. What a trip it was too! I went on a cruise ship ‘Ocean Village One’ with someone from the office. We went on a Mediterranean Cruise to Dubrovnik and the Greek Islands. You can see me on the balcony of the ship. I'm sooo glad that I can swim as there was so much water…

Corfu

What it is to be in demand! All the staff in the office were fighting over me; they all wanted to take me on holiday with them. I must be the luckiest Duck alive. However, I am glad that Angela won. Angela took me to sunny Kassiopi in Corfu for two weeks. Two weeks of heaven. I spent quite a lot of the time in the day on a sun bed, people watching. The nights were spent eating good Greek food and drinking real home made vino. One evening I asked Angela to take a photo of me with the view of the Kassiopi Harbour in the background. I tell you I am lucky to be alive to this day, she balanced me on the balcony, oh boy did I feel sick, does she know that this duck doesn’t like heights. Thankfully, I am here to tell the story and looking forward to my next holiday – I wonder where it will be?

Cornwall

I've just come back from a relaxing weekend in Cornwall. We stayed at a house belonging to some friends of the marketing person at Blackbox-av. It’s called Three Acres Farm and is near Truro. The farm used to produce aquatic plants, so it has three large ponds full of reeds, lilies and a huge gunnera plant. Just my cup of tea! There were even some resident ducks that looked after me. The humans went on a walk so I stowed away in a backpack and went with them as they walked from Portscatho to the beautiful Towan Beach and back. The water was still too cold for me! Roll on summer!

Chiltern Open Air Museum

Yet again something different, one of the staff is an English Civil War re-enactor and he took me to an event at the Chiltern Open Air Museum his regiment was organising. They take authenticity fairly seriously so I had to spend much of the time in the modern campsite. I did manage to disguise myself by borrowing a coif off one of the ladies and had a nose around the living history site. It’s a good thing they didn’t fire that cannon when I was looking inside though – and that pikeman’s morion was a bit smelly. The weather was great and the musicians kept us all entertained in the evening around the campfire and in the site’s err umm “Temperance Hall” – I think that might need to be re-named but what I saw in there.

As a complete contrast to my last entry I found myself on a “girlie” weekend in Tenby with one of the sales team. I don’t remember much about the weekend – not many of those present do either! I did have a great time though, “ducking and diving” around the beautiful old town. The water was still too cold for me. I brought back a postcard from the town.

Earls Court, London

I was lucky enough for a trip to London this time around. Blackbox-av was exhibiting at the Museums & Heritage show at Earls Court. I left the stand building to the guys and spent a few hours watching the proceedings from a safe perch above the stand. I even found some fans, so I must say hello to Maureen Roberts, Ken Page and Holly Booth from the City of London. The K&K George Hotel was very comfortable and the sales team were very pleased with the results. I was disappointed that the team didn’t lay on some water for me, but I guess you cannot have everything!

Turkey

Somebody must be listening. Once again I was bundled into a briefcase and low and behold when it opened it was so hot! I was in Turkey! I spent a whole week at a villa with its own pool! This is the life! A whole pool and a sun bed all for me! The humans kept disappearing off on bikes, far too energetic for me! I really enjoyed the peace and the sun.

Amsterdam

This time I was bundled out of the office and into suitcase. When it opened I found myself in Amsterdam! I had a fab time! I met lots of ducky friends and the weather was great. I sent a postcard back to the office. I even dipped my little webbed feet into the canals, but the water was very cold. I think I prefer warmer climes!

Southsea, Portsmouth

I managed to talk my way into a day out on the south coast. Paul, the Sales Director, was visiting the Royal Marines Museum in Southsea, Portsmouth. The weather was terrific and we managed to catch some rays on the seafront, though the water was still quite cold. The museum is revamping one of its galleries telling the story of how the Royal Marines are trained, - hunky marines, just what a girl wants to see!

Suffice to say that one day I found myself in a display cabinet in Blackbox-av’s conference room during a sales meeting. The sales folk seemed friendly and promised to look after me – maybe I’ll stay a while here.
